📌 গঠন অনুযায়ী Sentence কত প্রকার?

গঠন (Structure) অনুযায়ী Sentence কে ৩ ভাগে ভাগ করা হয় —

• Simple Sentence
• Complex Sentence
• Compound Sentence

🔑 মূল পার্থক্য নির্ভর করে বাক্যে কয়টি Clause আছে এবং সেগুলো কীভাবে যুক্ত হয়েছে তার উপর।

🧩 আগে জানুন: Clause কী?

Clause হলো এমন একটি Word Group, যার নিজস্ব Subject ও Finite Verb থাকে।

Independent Clause
একা দাঁড়িয়ে সম্পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে পারে

He went to school.

Dependent (Subordinate) Clause
একা দাঁড়িয়ে সম্পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে পারে না, অন্য Clause এর উপর নির্ভরশীল

...because he was late (অসম্পূর্ণ, আরেকটা Clause লাগবে)

1️⃣ Simple Sentence

যে বাক্যে শুধু একটি Subject ও একটি Finite Verb থাকে (একটি মাত্র Independent Clause), তাকে Simple Sentence বলে।

Subject + Verb + Object (একটি মাত্র Clause)

He plays football.
The sun rises in the east.
Rahim is a good student.

⚠️ Simple Sentence এ একাধিক Subject বা একাধিক Verb থাকতে পারে, কিন্তু Clause একটাই থাকবে।
উদাহরণঃ Rahim and Karim play football. (একাধিক Subject, তবু Simple Sentence)

2️⃣ Complex Sentence

যে বাক্যে একটি Independent Clause এবং একটি বা একাধিক Dependent Clause থাকে, তাকে Complex Sentence বলে।

Independent Clause + Subordinating Conjunction + Dependent Clause

🔹 চেনার উপায়:

বাক্যে Subordinating Conjunction থাকে, যেমনঃ because, if, when, although, since, that, while, as, unless, before, after

He went to bed because he was tired.
Although it was raining, he went out.
I know that he is honest.

🔑 Complex Sentence এ Dependent Clause টি Independent Clause এর অর্থ সম্পূর্ণ করতে সাহায্য করে, কিন্তু নিজে একা দাঁড়াতে পারে না।

3️⃣ Compound Sentence

যে বাক্যে দুই বা ততোধিক Independent Clause থাকে, যেগুলো Coordinating Conjunction দিয়ে যুক্ত থাকে, তাকে Compound Sentence বলে।

Independent Clause + Coordinating Conjunction + Independent Clause

🔹 চেনার উপায়:

বাক্যে Coordinating Conjunction (FANBOYS) থাকে, যেমনঃ for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so

He was tired, but he finished the work.
Rahim went to market and Karim went to school.
Study hard, or you will fail.

🔑 Compound Sentence এর প্রতিটি Clause আলাদাভাবে দাঁড়ালেও সম্পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে পারে — এটাই Complex Sentence থেকে এর মূল পার্থক্য।

⚖️ Simple vs Complex vs Compound — মূল পার্থক্য

Simple
১টি Independent Clause, কোনো Conjunction লাগে না

Complex
১টি Independent + ১টি (বা বেশি) Dependent Clause, Subordinating Conjunction লাগে

Compound
২টি (বা বেশি) Independent Clause, Coordinating Conjunction লাগে

🔄 Sentence Transformation (এক প্রকার থেকে আরেক প্রকারে রূপান্তর)

পরীক্ষায় প্রায়ই এক ধরনের Sentence কে অন্য ধরনে রূপান্তর করতে বলা হয়। নিচে উদাহরণ দেওয়া হলো —

🔹 Simple → Complex

Simple: In spite of his poverty, he is happy.
Complex: Though he is poor, he is happy.

🔹 Simple → Compound

Simple: Besides being rich, he is honest.
Compound: He is not only rich but also honest.

🔹 Complex → Simple

Complex: When the sun rose, we started our journey.
Simple: We started our journey at sunrise.

🔹 Complex → Compound

Complex: As he was ill, he could not come.
Compound: He was ill, so he could not come.

🔹 Compound → Simple

Compound: He is poor, but he is honest.
Simple: In spite of being poor, he is honest.

🔹 Compound → Complex

Compound: He worked hard, so he passed.
Complex: Because he worked hard, he passed.

⚡ Exam এ দ্রুত চেনার Shortcut

• Step 1: বাক্যে কয়টি Subject+Verb জোড়া (Clause) আছে গুনুন
• Step 2: একটাই থাকলে → Simple Sentence
• Step 3: Subordinating Conjunction (because, if, when, that...) থাকলে → Complex
• Step 4: Coordinating Conjunction (and, but, or, so...) থাকলে → Compound

🎯 SSC/PSC/Rail/Police পরীক্ষায় সবচেয়ে বেশি আসে: Sentence Transformation (Simple↔Complex↔Compound রূপান্তর) — এই অংশে সবচেয়ে বেশি practice করুন।
