📌 Article কী?

A, An, The — এই তিনটি শব্দকে Article বলে। Noun এর আগে বসে Noun টিকে নির্দিষ্ট বা অনির্দিষ্ট করে তোলে।

🎯 Article দুই প্রকার: Indefinite Article (a, an) এবং Definite Article (the)

1️⃣ Indefinite Article: A / An

অনির্দিষ্ট কোনো Singular Countable Noun এর আগে বসে।

🔹 A বসে কখন?

শব্দের শুরুতে Consonant Sound (ব্যঞ্জনধ্বনি) থাকলে

a book, a pen, a university (u এখানে "yu" শব্দ করে), a European country

🔹 An বসে কখন?

শব্দের শুরুতে Vowel Sound (স্বরধ্বনি: a,e,i,o,u এর উচ্চারণ) থাকলে

an apple, an hour (h উচ্চারিত হয় না), an honest man, an MA degree (M এর উচ্চারণ "em")

⚠️ মনে রাখবেন: বানান নয়, শব্দের উচ্চারণ (Sound) দেখে A/An ঠিক করতে হয়।

2️⃣ Definite Article: The

নির্দিষ্ট কোনো ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা স্থান বোঝাতে ব্যবহার হয় — Singular, Plural উভয় Noun এর আগে বসতে পারে।

✅ The ব্যবহারের নিয়ম:

নির্দিষ্ট কিছু বোঝাতে — The book on the table is mine.

নদী, সাগর, মহাসাগর, উপসাগরের নামের আগে

the Padma, the Bay of Bengal, the Pacific Ocean

পাহাড়ের সারি, দ্বীপপুঞ্জের নামের আগে (একক পাহাড়ে না)

the Himalayas, the Sundarbans

সংবাদপত্র, বই এর নামের আগে

the Prothom Alo, the Quran

দেশের নাম যদি Republic/Union/Kingdom বোঝায়

the USA, the UK, the Netherlands

Superlative Degree এর আগে

the best, the tallest boy

একমাত্র বস্তু বোঝাতে

the sun, the moon, the sky, the earth

জাতি বোঝাতে

the Bengalis, the Americans

❌ The ব্যবহার হয় না যেখানে:

Proper Noun এর আগে (ব্যক্তি/দেশ/শহরের নাম)

Rahim goes to Dhaka. (❌ the Rahim, the Dhaka নয়)

Material Noun ও Abstract Noun এর আগে (সাধারণভাবে)

Honesty is a virtue. Gold is a metal.

খাবার, খেলা, ভাষার নামের আগে

I like football. She speaks Bangla.

একক পাহাড় বা একক হ্রদের নামের আগে

Everest, Lake Victoria

3️⃣ যেখানে কোনো Article বসে না (Zero Article)

• Plural Noun সাধারণ অর্থে — Dogs are faithful animals.
• Uncountable Noun সাধারণ অর্থে — Water is necessary for life.
• School, College, Church, Bed, Prison — কাজের উদ্দেশ্যে গেলে — He goes to school.
• Meal এর নামের আগে — We had breakfast at 8 AM.

📌 Preposition কী?

যে Word কোনো Noun বা Pronoun এর সাথে বাক্যের অন্য অংশের সম্পর্ক তৈরি করে, তাকে Preposition বলে। সাধারণত Noun/Pronoun এর আগে বসে।

The book is on the table. (on = Preposition, sম্পর্ক দেখাচ্ছে book আর table এর মধ্যে)

4️⃣ Preposition of Time (সময় বোঝাতে)

In — মাস, বছর, ঋতু বোঝাতে

in July, in 2024, in winter

On — নির্দিষ্ট দিন বা তারিখ বোঝাতে

on Friday, on 15 August

At — নির্দিষ্ট সময় (ঘড়ির সময়) বোঝাতে

at 6 PM, at noon, at night

Since — নির্দিষ্ট সময় থেকে (Present Perfect এর সাথে)

since 2020, since morning

For — সময়ের ব্যাপ্তি বোঝাতে

for two hours, for five years

5️⃣ Preposition of Place (স্থান বোঝাতে)

In — বড় স্থান/ভেতরে বোঝাতে — in Dhaka, in the box

On — উপরিতলে বোঝাতে — on the table, on the wall

At — নির্দিষ্ট বিন্দু/ছোট স্থান বোঝাতে — at the door, at school

Under / Below → নিচে   Above / Over → উপরে

Between → দুইয়ের মাঝে   Among → দুইয়ের বেশির মাঝে

6️⃣ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ Preposition with Verb/Adjective (Exam এ বেশি আসে)

• Depend on — নির্ভর করা
• Interested in — আগ্রহী হওয়া
• Afraid of — ভয় পাওয়া
• Proud of — গর্বিত হওয়া
• Good at — দক্ষ হওয়া
• Angry with (person) / at (thing) — রাগান্বিত হওয়া
• Married to — বিবাহিত হওয়া
• Related to — সম্পর্কিত হওয়া
• Look after — দেখাশোনা করা
• Congratulate on — অভিনন্দন জানানো
• Comply with — মেনে চলা
• Consist of — গঠিত হওয়া

⚡ Exam এ দ্রুত মনে রাখার Shortcut

• Article: শব্দের উচ্চারণ (Sound) দেখুন, বানান নয় — Vowel sound হলে An, Consonant sound হলে A
• The: নির্দিষ্ট বস্তু, নদী-সাগর, একমাত্র বস্তু, Superlative — এখানে The বসবে
• Preposition of Time: বড় সময় → In, নির্দিষ্ট দিন → On, নির্দিষ্ট মুহূর্ত → At
• Verb+Preposition: এগুলো মুখস্থ রাখুন, কারণ এখান থেকে সরাসরি প্রশ্ন আসে
